Club History
Chester Green Cobras Football Club was originally setup in 2006 by a group of parents disillusioned with the experience their children received in their first season of football at the under 8 age group.
The parents decided that the best way for our children to play at a club with real values was to start our own from scratch. So for the under 9 season 2006-07 in the Derby Community League the Chester Green Cobras were born. We started life with a small team and gradually built our membership over the past two years to our current squad of 14.
As a club, over the last 2 years we have been a self funding club with small financial help from the Football Foundation in our initial year. Unlike many football clubs we took the decision that all training wear and equipment would be bought by the club and paid for through the monthly player subscriptions.
The Football Club trains at Darley Fields in Derby on a Thursday night from 6.00pm through to 7.15pmĀ and at JJB Sportsdome Derby throughout the winter months on the floodlit astroturf pitches.
